Forget the scaremongering that so often accompanies debate about Britain’s EU membership. Leaving the European Union could be a win-win for the UK. We could have more international influence, create more trade and jobs, and regain sovereign control over our own laws and borders. These are the advantages that would flow from the Global Britain Free Trade option for Brexit, recommended today by the think tank Global Britain after careful consideration of the four main possible Brexit scenarios – all of which would be better than the status quo of unreformed EU membership.

We send £350 million a week to the EU – enough to build a new hospital a week
We get 250,000 EU migrants a year – it’s out of control and damages the NHS
It’s safer to take back control and spend our money on our priorities

Imagine if we Vote Leave in 77 days’ time… We can protect the UK by supporting our own Armed Forces and not surrendering control to an EU Army.

The Government will spend YOUR money on its pro-EU propaganda

The Government announced last night that it is going to spend more than £9 million of taxpayers’ money sending out a glossy 16-page leaflet to every home in the UK telling us we should stay in the EU. This is a direct breach of a promise they made in Parliament.

Campaign spending in the referendum will now be massively slanted in favour of the Remain campaign. Added together, the official IN campaign, the Government, and the political parties on the Remain side can spend a staggering £26.6 million.

On the Leave side, the maximum amount we can spend is £11.7 million – two and a half times less.

The Government knows it is losing the argument, so now they are trying to skew the debate – using misleading facts, discredited arguments, and more than £9 million of YOUR money.

We already send more than £350 million to Brussels every week – why should we be made to hand over more of our taxes to fund Government propaganda? We should spend our money on our priorities, like the NHS.

This shows what we are up against. The Government, the Establishment, and their big business backers all want us to stay in the EU at any cost. The IN campaign is being funded by US investment banks who crippled our economy – while ordinary companies of all sizes know that the EU makes it harder for them to run their businesses and create jobs.

It’s never been more important to donate to our cause. Can you show that you are with us by donating just £1 today? With the spending limits skewed against us, every penny will make a huge difference.

If you are unhappy that the Government is spending your hard-earned money to deliver pro-EU leaflets to your door, why not write to your MP or local paper? We’d be happy to help with any tips and advice of how to do this. Just emailsupporters@voteleave.uk.

PM chases the youth vote

Today, David Cameron is launching another IN campaign, claiming that young people will be hit hardest if we leave the EU.

The fact that he’s chosen to launch it at Exeter University when most of the students are away on holiday is very telling. Young people across Europe have been betrayed by the EU which, amongst its many failings, has allowed youth unemployment to climb to catastrophic levels, letting down an entire generation and leaving them with little hope of a promising future in their own countries. That’s why lots of students and young voters have been tweeting today telling the Prime Minister: #DontPatroniseMe. If you don’t already follow them, check out some of the young activists campaigning for a Leave vote at Students for Britain and BeLeave.

Meanwhile, as we send £350 million a week to Brussels – enough to build a new hospital every week – the Government continues to borrow money to pay for our EU membership, forcing the next generation to foot the bill.

The safer choice for future generations is to take back control and spend our money on our priorities like schools and the NHS. That is why people of all ages should Vote Leave on 23 June.

Chris R. Tame (1949-2006) was for many years the face of British libertarianism. Tame discovered Ayn Rand’s work when he was seventeen and quickly became a libertarian. Having been involved with established organisations such as the Society for Individual Freedom and the Institute for Economic Affairs, and dismayed by the lack of an explicitly libertarian organisation in the UK, he and a few others broke away to found what was later to become the Libertarian Alliance, of which he was the first director. His activism also involved a highly successful period as director of the smokers’ rights organisation, FOREST. He died of bone cancer on 20th March 2006.

Recorded by his successor as director of the Libertarian Alliance, Sean Gabb, these interviews show Chris Tame at his very best, speaking on a wide range of issues without inhibition. By this time, Tame could no longer be described as an “orthodox” libertarian. Nevertheless, they support the statement that he was the most interesting and insightful libertarian of his day.

The interviews are being edited and released one at a time. To keep up with what we have released, we suggest you subscribe to the Libertarian Alliance YouTube channel.
